As an artist, I have a passion for abstract art, wildlife and The Big Five, and I paint big bold modernistic pieces. I try to capture the essence of the animal, as well as the moment frozen in time. I generally steer clear of realism, as I am of the firm belief that a piece of art should be open to interpretation by the viewer. Unexpected elements of colour and shape within my paintings cause tension, and invite one to pause and ponder them, time after time.
My studio is situated in the suburb of Howick, where the natural beauty of the lush Natal Midlands serves as a constant inspiration for my work. I have always had a deep love of all animals, and this has an immense influence on my art.
